living

adventurously

Because I ain't dead yet

ADVENTURE

… is a very personal word. One person’s adventure may be another person’s ordinary. Never lose your sense of adventure, be it for something hugely life-changing or some silly fun.

If you’re about to do something that makes you feel scared, excited, curious, nervous, or anxious, you’re about to embark on an adventure, so hang on for the ride! Not all adventures will be rainbow-farting unicorns, but they will be learning experiences. And that’s always a good thing.

welcome

Hi! I’m Suggie (sorta rhymes with boogie), and I am The Gassy Squirrel.

I worked in the video game industry for almost 10 years, and while I loved parts of it, cubicle life ultimately did me in, so I left and took that blind leap…right into this site.

I get my adventure high through exploring and learning new things, and I love to pay that energy forward to inspire others to do the same.

This love for exploration is what motivates me to embrace the worthy quest of finding the question to the answer: 42.* Won’t you join me? 🙂

*If you don’t know what this means, go read you some Douglas Adams – now!

haiku challenge

Nothing like a haiku to hone your thoughts. For someone like me who loves to use lots of words and hand gestures to convey meaning, distilling thoughts into 3 lines with limited syllables is a hair-greying experience.

I challenge you to try your hand at it! It’s a great exercise to sort your thoughts. Write your own haiku about what living adventurously means to you and submit it below. I’ll post all haikus on a dedicated page, including your name (unless you wish to remain anonymous).

My requirements are not strict: 3 lines, with each respective line having 5/7/5 syllables. Don’t worry about other traditional elements (unless you want to get fancy).

Here’s mine:

explore your unknown

face them ugly fears with grit

own your challenges

Hey now, I didn’t say it was going to be good!

Submitting your haiku will opt you in to my weekly Explorer’s Club email. (You can always unsubscribe later.)
