Flying over the Jungles of Belize :: Ziplining in the Cayo District

I’ve ziplined in the forests of Costa Rica, Whistler, Canada, and now Belize. Our Belize experience was at the Angel Falls Xtreme Adventures in Cayo, and though not part of our original plans, we ended having a great time and were glad that we had gone.

This was, by far, the safest zipline operation I’ve seen. The brakes were quality, all the equipment was new and kept sparkling clean (no glove or helmet funk), the guides all knew exactly what they were doing, and the safety standards went above and beyond – I’m talking having us clipped in to guide ropes while waiting our turns on the higher platforms. A+ for safety! Younger kids can even ride tandem with a guide so they can still experience the thrill of flying through the air.

Lines-wise, I believe there are 7 or 8 zip lines with one of them being about a half mile long (that’s about 1km for you metric folks) which I share in the video below.

For those who prefer to skip the video, I’ve also included a gallery of photos (but I think the video’s more fun to watch). 🙂
